The plateau above Abert Rim reveals a grand landscape of bunchgrass and intermittent lake beds. Relatively dependable water for large herds of Antelope and Bighorn Sheep. October sunrise from a couple of years back.
Jim is a 34-year resident of Central Oregon and has an established construction company building green and energy efficient custom homes. Climbing along with a growing interest in exploring Oregon’s desert landscapes fostered Jim's long-term interest in photography. His volunteer work with the Oregon Natural Desert Association helped create the Wild Desert Calendar, a showcase of Eastern Oregon desert images by regional photographers. His images have also been published in Climbing, Oregon Home, Backpacker, and Cascades East magazines.
